~ Stop Copying Other People's Work ~

I were very exhausted. I have been hanging out with my friends at Melaka the night before the class. We went there on sunday morning and came back to UiTM just about eleven o'clock in the evening. Without hesitation, I went to sleep as soon as I came through the door of my room. When I woke up on the next morning, I felt like I just wanted to sleep for the whole day. But for the sake of my future, my CGPA and my beloved Miss Zu, I went to the class. I were lucky for coming to the class because it may be usefull for my term paper. The subjects are PLAGIARISM AND PARAPHRASING.

PLAGIARISM
- DEFINE AS TAKING IN PART OR IN SOMEONE ELSE'S WORDS,
WRITINGS, RESEARCH, IDEAS, ARTWORKS, MUSICS OR OTHER
CREATIVE EFFORTS AND PASSING IT OFF AS ONE'S WITHOUT
GIVING DUE CREDIT TO THE ORIGINATOR
- METHODS TO AVOID PLAGIARISM :
  ~ PARAPHRASE
[WRITE IN YOUR OWN WORDS AS WHAT YOU UNDERSTAND]
  ~ CITE SOURCES
[PROVIDE LINKS OF WEBSITES AND LIST ALL THE SOURCES]
  ~ QUOTATION MARKS
[WRITE EXACT WORDS AND PUT THEM IN '.....']

PARAPHRASE
- DEFINE AS EXPRESSING SOMEONE ELSE'S IDEAS USING YOUR OWN
  WORDS
- GUIDELINES FOR PARAPHRASING :
~ RETAIN THE ORIGINAL MEANING OF THE TEXT
~ CHANGE THE GRAMMAR AND SENTENCES STRUCTURE
  ~ USE SYNONYMS WHERE APPROPRIATE
  ~ CITE THE ORIGINAL SOURCE
- YOU NEED TO MENTION THE AUTHOR'S NAME SO THAT THE READERS
KNOW THAT YOU ARE ACTUALLY DISCUSSING SOMEONE ELSE'S IDEAS
